We are a warm and welcoming early years setting in Polegate, where every child is valued, nurtured and encouraged to thrive. We have created a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children ages 2-5years can learn and grow in confidence.
Our experienced and passionate team are dedicated to supporting each child througout their time at Poppetts Pre School. We ensure well-rounded growth in communication, social skills, physical development and early literacy and numeracy.
At Poppetts Pre-School we:
Foster a strong sense of belonging and emotional wellbeing
Encourage curiosity, exploration and independence
Celebrate diversity and promote kindness and respect
Work closely with families to support every childs journey
Poppetts have 3 age groups; Ladybirds, bumblebees and butterflies. We have a set day dedicated to our butterflies on a Friday. These are the children starting primary school that academic year. This is a more structured day to prepare them for their next adventure. All other sessions are mixed ages, in which staff will do small group work depending on their age range. More information on this can be found here.
At Poppetts Pre-School we use the EYFS framework to assess each child. Each child has their own key worker and learning journey which shows all areas of development. Inside each learning journey will be a EYFS child assessment pack, progress tracker, photo evidence and observation sheets. We also work alongside the 'Birth to 5 matters' which helps recognise milestones and put in place any future strategies.
Next steps are written for each individual child prior to the following term. This gives a target for each child to keep up with development. These are sent home for parents to see what we are working on and for the step to be continued at home.
At Pre-School, every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and shine in their own unique way. Some children need a little extra support to help them reach their full potential and this is what our SENCO officer will ensure.
Our SENCO is specifically trained and oversees children with additional needs, whether thats leaning, communication, behaviour or physical challenges.
The role of the SENCO is vital in:
Spotting needs early
Personalised support
Supporting you and your family
Working with experts
Making Pre School inclusive
