Our Pre-School offers three distinct groups tailored to children's ages: Ladybirds, bumblebees and butterflies. Whilst most sessions are organised as mixed-age groups to encourage peer learning and social development, Fridays are dedicated exclusively to our oldest children, providing activities specifically suited to their stage of development.Β
All children have access to free-flow play opportnities downstairs, in the garden and upstairs in the Nest. These sessions are organised in small groups, allowing children to explore, learn and engage in a supportive and well-supervised environment. Upstairs in the Nest, we also provide focused group work, alongside a dedicated sensory corner and offer a calm space.

At Poppetts Pre-School, we take children from the age of 2. The funding will be accepted the term after their 2nd birthday. If your child starts with us the academic year of their 2nd birthday, they will be in the ladybird group. All age children have mixed play each session, however there is a short group time each morning in which the ladybirds will have time with the other ladybirds up in the nest.

The Bumblebees are the children turning 3 that academic year. We believe the Bumblebees learn from our Butterflies so mixed age play is very beneficial. We also have set time for age appropriate activities in groups for just our Bumblebees.

Our Butterflies are our children turning 4 that academic year. Our Butterflies are role-models to our younger children. We have mixed age sessions every day apart from Fridays. This is so the Butterflies have a more structured day, allowing them to learn and prepare them for their transition to Primary School.Β
